Administrator Chosen for Cannabis and Alcohol Regulation Division

Helena – Brendan Beatty, Director of the Montana Department of Revenue (DOR), today announced that Kristan Barbour is the department’s choice for the Division Administrator of the newly created Cannabis and Alcohol Regulation Division (CARD).

Governor Gianforte’s administration has challenged all agency directors to improve their organizations’ cost efficiency and citizen service. To achieve improved efficiency and to capitalize on the synergies of the Alcoholic Beverage Control Division (ABCD) and Cannabis Control Division (CCD), the Department of Revenue combined the two divisions.

Ms. Barbour has worked for many years in various roles for the department and most recently has served as the CCD Administrator.  Director Beatty has confidence that Ms. Barbour will successfully lead CARD as it evolves into a new, top-of-the-line division within DOR. Director Beatty stated, “Kristan’s dedication to citizen service and her employee-oriented approach to management will help merge these two divisions into one smoothly operating machine.  I am excited to see the great things CARD will achieve.”
