If you believe you may be the owner of unclaimed property, there are two easy ways to conduct a search: do a search online at Click for Cash or ask the department to conduct a search for you.

Call us toll free at (866) 859-2254 (in Helena, 444-6900) and our call center staff will search for you.
Depending on the type of property being claimed, we will require some additional documents to verify that the property belongs to you. Click Here for all unclaimed property downloadable forms.

Montana's unclaimed property is listed at MissingMoney.com. This free national database helps consumers search for lost assets and unclaimed property. It is an easy-to-use website that updates once a month. Unclaimed property listings from 37 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and Alberta, Canada are available for searches on the site.
Please note: There are other websites that offer assistance with finding unclaimed property. However, many of these sites require a payment before you can discover if you have unclaimed property. Although these sites are legal businesses, it’s unnecessary to pay so that you can reclaim your property.
